They also stressed the importance of consideration be given to the timing of assignments and for courses to be interrelated

The students were adamant about the importance of having teachers who were competent researchers, up-to-date with rapidly changing theories. They also talked about the passion and excitement that teachers who are undertaking cutting edge research bring to their teaching. They enjoyed hearing about how the teacher was going about his/her research, the mistakes they have made as well as the discoveries. They noted that being able to explain the research helps them to clarify their own understanding of the issue.
