What you need
At home or using the computer labs?
It is your choice whether to use your own computer
or a computer on campus. If you have a computer
with a local Internet connection, you may find the
24 hour access convenient.

Depending on the subject, lectures can be accessed
from the computer labs at:
- Wollongong
- Bega
- Bateman's Bay
- Shoalhaven
- Moss Vale
- Loftus (coming soon).
Your subject coordinator or tutor will let you
know which labs are available for your subject.

What do I need to use eduStream at a computer
lab?
Please bring your own headphones to use eduStream
at a University computer lab.
Before you buy headphones, talk to the coordinator
of the lab you will usually use. They can advise
you about what kind you need.
What do I need to use eduStream at home?
 |
1. A computer with a sound
card and speakers
You can use eduStream from most computers.
PC and Macintosh are both supported. You will
need a sound card. External speakers are recommended.
|
|
|
2. A modem (or broadband)
A 56K modem or broadband is recommended.
However, eduStream will work on many 14K or
28K modems. The sound will still be good and
the lectures will be reasonably clear and
audible.
Some home modem users may find they can't
use the visualiser
version of eduStream. An audio-only alternative
will always be available for these users.
The difference in quality is due to low connection
speeds on some computers. |

|
3. Local access to the Internet
If you don't have access to the Internet
at home, you will have to organise this yourself.
You will need to find an Internet Service
Provider (ISP) in your local area to offer
you a reasonably priced package. Alternatively,
you can use eduStream on campus. |
|
|
4. QuickTime software
Many computers already have QuickTime installed.
If not, QuickTime
installer is provided free on the Apple web
site. |
