Finding your lectures

Remember: You must Install Quicktime before you can play lectures.

Lectures are usually available on eduStream the day after they are held and in most cases will continue to be available throughout the session. Not all subjects offer lectures in eduStream.

If your subject has lectures available in eduStream, there will be a link from WebCT. WebCT is the Learning OnLine web site for your subjects, located at http://www.uow.edu.au/student/lol/

After you click the link in your subject web page, a list of your eduStream lectures will appear in your web browser. It should be similar to the picture below. You choose a lecture by making a choice from 'select bandwidth'.

Choose a lecture by selecting the correct bandwidth

Choosing your lecture and bandwidth

  1. Look through the list of lectures and find the one you want
  2. Next to that lecture, click on 'select bandwidth.' A dropdown menu will appear
  3. If you are using a home modem, choose an option which specifies a speed equal to or slower than the speed of your modem or broadband connection. For example, if you have a 28K modem or less, choose 'Audio 14K'. If you are using a 56K modem or broadband, choose 'Audio 56K' or 'Visualiser 28K'. If you are using a computer on campus, choose the fastest audio or visual option
  4. Test the sound. If it is interrupted or uneven, choose a slower speed. Changes in Internet use may affect the speed at different times of the day.

If you click on 'slides only', you will see the PowerPoint slides from the lecture in your web browser.

Note: 'Bandwidth' means the speed of your Internet connection
